New York City October 6-12, 2016

 

Welcome to our fall 2016 trip.  We started off with 6 exciting days in the city that never sleeps.  Nothing like watching a traffic jam at 2 am in Time Square.  We followed this with a 10 day Canada and New England cruise.

 

New York City

Our trip to NYC started off on a bad note. Accidents and traffic may our trip to airport an hour and 40 minutes versus expected 30 to 40 minutes. Made flight just in time. Landing at JFK. Taxi ride to Hotel took over an hour period took longer to drive from JFK to Hotel then to fly from Raleigh to JFK. Check into Marriott Marquis. A very very nice hotel and room on 29th floor. Had lunch in the restaurant on the 8th floor where the lobby is. Floors 1 through 7 are a theater and parking garage. Walk to Central Park. Took a 45-minute ride with a tour guide around Central Park. Pretty much saw the entire park. Lots of pictures. Walkthrough Broadway and so many theaters, Radio City Music Hall, and Carnegie Hall. Had cocktails back at the hotel. Had a wonderful Italian dinner at Volga vector in Hell's Kitchen on 9th Avenue and 46th Street. Walk around for a bit and came back to room to crash.
