Pros:

Excellent service.

Good food in the main dining room.

Comedian and magician were excellent.

Cons:

Although this ship was built in 2002, it is really run down.  (It is scheduled for a complete renovation in 2008 and it needs it.) There were obvious holes, divots, and bumps in public walk ways.

The buffet was only open for dinner from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. After 7:30, there was mediocre pizza or room service. This is a problem for people like us who enjoy flexible dining and don't always want to go to the fixed dinner seating.

Although the HAL website claims this ship is targeted at a younger crowd, we saw no evidence of it.  Case in point the early closing of the buffet and the extremely poor Broadway-style performers.

Too much furniture in the cabin.

Here is the Windstar Cafe where we loaded up on caffeine.

In 1997, when we went to Alaska on HAL, the espresso was free.  But now it is too popular to be free.

Karen's best buddy on the trip was Jennifer the latte lady.
This stairwell is where they hang all the honors and plaques for the ship.  How do you know who took this picture?  Look for Lou's reflection in one of the plaques.
This is a pretty ship.
This poor polar bear has a rope around her ankle!  That's why she has not attacked any of the passengers.

The polar bear is sort of charming -- we expected to see the usual dolphins or mermaids.

Oh gosh, she's a Mama Polar Bear with baby in tow.  Make sure that you wear those little bells if you are walking around the ship.

Actually, Lou got this picture on the last morning when we were waiting to be allowed to disembark. Netting was stretched out to close off all the pools; that is why she has a rope around her ankle.

We had towel animals every night including a penguin, monkey, elephant, lobster, sting ray, and swan.  Some people got a very cute puppy dog, but we didn't :-(
