This year, the Arthritis
Foundation "A Joint Walk" took place on Saturday, May 22. The weather was
awesome! Mother nature cooperated by providing wall to wall sun with temperatures in
the high 70s. 310 walkers showed up (with dozens of dogs) to raise over $35,000!
Yours truly came in second place for individual fund raisers with $840. Below
are some photos.
It was a lot of fun. I did the 10K walk in about 1 hour and 45 minutes. Would
had been faster, but us Seattlelites aren't used to this yellow ball in the sky. Sam
the Golden Retriever managed to keep up (although the warmer temps made it much more
difficult this year) and keep her licks to a minimum. She was the recipient of a
great deal of attention.
To my supporters, THANK YOU VERY MUCH! Your
contribution is very much appreciated. And the supporters are:

TADA! After an hour and 45 minutes, with blistered feet, I reach the finish
line. The warm temps took a hit on Sam and on my feet. Both of my feet
suffered from numerous blisters. Ouch! It wouldn't have been so bad if I
wasn't going to Canada that same afternoon. |
|
Sam and I are taking in the rays while sucking down some highly needed H2O. What
ever happened to the rain anyway? |
|
Yep, Sam's had it. Right now she'd settle for the lazy boy recliner. I
don't think she'll be harassing Molly very much today. |
|
Gee, can you believe it. These guys made us get up on stage so others could clap
for us. Yikes! Apparently, the top 5 fund raisers get some discount
certificates and embarrassed on stage. |
