We got the goods.  Truck full of concrete and wood.

Can you believe it!  We are in a severe drought!  We are 2 feet below normal.  So what happens the day the concrete is delivered?  Yep, it rains.

The work begins.  Here's the existing deck with some alterations for the extension.

Here is Len Beasley the deck guy.  You think he knows I took this picture.

Len got pretty far the first day.  Here the dogs inspect the work.

Full view of first day's work and existing deck.

Air view.

Len's got all of the support posts and bracing done.

As you can tell from this up above view, he's got most of the deck boards done as well as the steps.

It was an absolute pleasure having Len Beasley around for a week.  Not only does he know his stuff inside out, but he's a nice guy to talk to.  He's definitely going on the party list.

I can't say enough about Len.  He shows up when he said he would show up.  His work is absolutely professional and top notch.  We were very impressed with his attention to detail and customer satisfaction.  When we mentioned we didn't like the step we had picked out, he took it upon himself to take it out and do it right.  We are planning on doing some work to our kitchen.  We already know who will do the work.  See you then if not before Len.

The lattice work really finishes the deck.  Nice work.  Len also put in a hinged door so I can get under the deck of I need to.

The full deck is roughly 20 by 26 feet.  You can have ball room dancing out there.  Lots of space for parties.

Here's our view from the kitchen.  The 3 windows overlooking part of the deck and hot tub do not have screens.  Makes it very easy to hand over the nachos and Margaritas.

After 4 months of planning, it is done.  This started off with the long held desire for a hot tub.  Then we had to build a patio to hold the hot tub.  Finally we needed a deck from the existing deck to the hot tub to finish it all up.  We still need some landscaping, but that can wait.  For now, enjoyment!
