We chose to walk out to the southernmost point of the US instead of crowding in at Mallory Square to watch the sunset. Boy this place was wicked crowded!  And sort of anti-climactic.  Should have gone to the sunset.  But Lou did get great pictures of the sunset from here.

Here you get an idea of how many people were crowded in at this spot.  It was an impressively international crowd. Lots of people waved at Castro.
We ended the trip at a bar on the pier where people gather to watch the sunset (Mallory Square).

The lighted area, as far as we could tell, was a wedding.  The wedding folks in their finery had to walk through the restaurant where we were to get to the bathrooms, so we saw an unending parade of wedding guests.
