Tour guide number 2 (Julia). English.
Fantastic tour guide.
There is a pig (for luck) on a ledge high on the right
side of this building.
This is the baptistery. In the old days, you could not
enter the church until you had been properly baptized; hence, a separate
building from the church was need for baptisms.
This looks old, but Julia assured us it was new.
Now we are in the alabaster shop. This area is rich is
the stone and the local artisans are world renouned.
This bowl was carved from one chunk of the stone.
Alabaster chess sets!
This is the set we got, where the board does not lay flat
but instead is high in two corners.
