I had not known anything about the artificial harbor that was constructed in order to supply the Allies with all the supplies, equipment, and men they needed.

You can see the remains of the huge metal structures they sank to form the artificial harbor at Arromanches Beach .

The artificial harbor is not a protected monument -- it is being allowed to be eaten away by the sea and time.

We were lucky that the tide was out. We got such a great view.

Inside the museum, we saw amazing artifacts. There was one helmet that had just been recovered in April in a field nearby. I guess artifacts are still showing up today.
