Celebrity Reflection Our loyalty to Celebrity Cruises has hit a snag. I have been cruising on Celebrity since February of the year 2000 off and on. Since 2024 we switched our cruise line and loyalty to Celebrity, no longer cruising other cruise lines. We did this because we preferred their service and food and how well they maintain all their ship classes. In addition, they extend to us Weekly Casino offers that allow us to cruise in a balcony for just a couple of hundred dollars to pay for port fees and taxes.	Celebrity Reflection I have a pair of meta AI smart glasses that I routinely wear on the ship to read menus and look at slot machines while I am playing slots. I do this because I am blind. Without them I could not play Slots unless someone like my wonderful wife sits next to me and tells me everything that is going on. Mainly, the glasses tell me what is my balance, what is my bet amount, and did I win on my last spin. I do not take videos of the casino or other people or anything ridiculous like that. I am 64 years old and I am not a voyeur.	Celebrity Reflection I have reached the Elite Status with Celebrity and Sapphire level with the casino Blue Chip Club. I have 17 cruises on Celebrity with another 11 planned. On August 5th something happened in the casino that my wife and I found rather disturbing and upsetting. After playing Panda Magic for Two Plus hours I stood up and went to support my wife who was playing another game on the next row. Suddenly I was surrounded by three large security officers. Right there in the middle of the casino they told me that I was not allowed to use my meta smart glasses in the casino. Well, I was rather stunned since I have been doing this for over a year. I explained to them that I am blind and that I have been doing this at least since September of 2025 and there have been no complaints. I showed them a letter I have from Celebrity Special Needs services indicating I would be allowed to use the meta glasses on the ship.
Celebrity Reflection Security didn't care. They simply said it was their new corporate policy as of February. Well I cruised on the Eclipse in March for 16 days and the Reflection 14 days in May and nobody said a word. Suddenly it is no longer allowed. Carol and I proceeded to guest services who simply shrugged their shoulders and were of no help whatsoever other than to offer to call Ship security to discuss the matter with us. We were then led into a private office to discuss the issue with ship security. Again they didn't seem to care and repeated to tell us it was a corporate policy. No apology was extended.	Celebrity Reflection So obviously we were pretty annoyed. We've canceled our next five cruises. I know that Royal Caribbean and MSC have banned these glasses. Celebrity is owned by Royal Caribbean. So far, Carnival has not banned them which means their other cruise lines like Princess and Holland America have not. We are scheduled to cruise on Princess in September and will determine their policy at that time. We are also cruising Margaritaville at Sea Islander just to check it out.	Celebrity Reflection Losing the ability to use the meta glasses in the casino is yet another Freedom that we blind people have lost. Losing your sight is not just losing your vision but losing the ability to do many of the things you used to be able to do. So to say at least this was rather hurtful.
