How was your 4th of July?

We spent the 4th of July weekend (7/2-7/5) at Lake Quinault Lodge.  This lodge is located on the shores of Lake Quinault.   Located on the southern end of the Olympic National Rain Forest, Lake Quinault is quite huge and quite cold.

The lodge is way cool.  Somewhat rustic.  The rooms have no TVs or phones, but do have a coffee maker.  Our room had a large balcony (about 15 long) that looked out onto the lake.  Our room also had a gas fireplace, couch, queen bed, and sitting area.

Here I am doing what I do best, just hanging out.  Nothing a dark brew and a good smoke.

Clovers What is there to do?  Well, you are in the only rain forest in North America.   So, you fish, swim (not), boat, and hike.  There countless trails through the rain forest ranging from 1/2 a mile to 20 miles.  The views are spectacular.  It is awesome looking at a tree that is 200 feet tall and several hundred years old.
